Enrollment to courses

In Stud.IP there are several different ways to register in a course.

How to sign up for the desired course can be read here.

If you can´t get into a course, it may be to one of the following reasons:

The course is locked

Courses are always blocked if they are synchronized from the UniVZ. If you can´t register for a course, it must first be manually unlocked by the lecturer of the course. Quite often it happens that lecturers do this only after the beginning of the course. It often happens that lecturers don´t want to use Stud.IP and thus don´t unlock the course. In this case, you will be advised of alternatives to Stud.IP at the first meeting of the course.

The course has a special registration process

Lecturers of a course have different possibilities to control the registration process. The instructors of a course independently decide on the appropriate registration procedure.

1. Open courses with participant restriction and lottery
If only a limited number of participants is admitted to the course, the placement of the place will usually be by lottery. To log in to the lottery procedure, select the button "Register for space allocation". After logging in, the window can be closed with "Close". After the automatic allocation of seats, you will receive the message whether you have been admitted to the course or not.

2. Lottery with priority list
If the desired course you want to sign up for belongs to a group of courses of which you can only select a certain number, you can create a priority list for the lottery. In this list, you specify an order in which you indicate your priority of the possible courses. During the lottery you will participate in the allocation of the specified courses.
If the window for registration opens, the number of courses that can be registered in the upper box and the time when automatic space allocation takes place are displayed.
In the lower half of the window is a table. All available courses are displayed on the left and all selected events, in a priority list, on the right.
In order to register for the courses, drag and drop the desired event from the left to the right table. Then proceed in the same way with your second request, third party request, etc.

The course have a password

The password is usually awarded when certain requirements have to be fulfilled by the students and you usually receive it from the lecturer. If a login password is required, enter it in the appropriate box.

For information on the registration modalities of specific courses, please ask the lecturers.

The event is always freely accessible

For these courses there is no participant restriction and no registration period. As a rule, the courses are freely accessible to all Stud.IP users. You can therefore register directly as a participant.
