Meetings is a plugin for hosting and supporting management and administration of live online training, courses, online presentations (such as lectures) and video conferences. In a live online session, participants can hear and see each other, share documents (such as .pdf and .docx), collaboratively write a text in real time, communicate via a group chat or direct messages and share their screen with other participants.
Within the Stud.IP platform, a meeting is always connected to a course. You can decide, whether only instructors and participants of the course are able to access the meeting or if participants who do not have access to Stud.IP, can enter the meeting by an invitation link too. The course, which is connected to the meeting, can be a lecture or a study group. With study groups, there is the opportunity to create meetings, which are not connected to a lecture. Therefore, instructors can connect with their colleagues and students can organize groups for collaborative learning.
Supporting decentralized learning
Within their own courses and for each tutorial, teachers and instructors can offer a workspace for decentralized collaborative learning through a meeting. A specific function enables teachers to give access to hosting rights: thus, for instance, students can record a meeting they conduct. Therefore, students are given the possibility to review learning content after the tutorial and those who could not attend the tutorial have access to the content nonetheless.
