It can take ages until you applied for the connection. But when you finally have it, it is pretty cool.

Horizontal linie
A short description on the Stud.IP text format: The horizontal line is for the whole page. If you add a number after the two minus signs (you can use values between 1 and 9) the horizontal line gets broader due to the number of pixels. If you do not enter a number the line is as big as usual.

System, the
Another name for Stud.IP. At least within the help pages of Stud.IP itself. In a real world the term has another meaning and sometimes a bad taste. Not here. Stud.IP tastes like peppermint.

Treeview
Single entrys within the view mode of the forum are connected by linies. That symbolizes that there is an answer directly to a posting. The single answers are "bound". Because of that all entrys that belong to one discussion are bound in some way. Due to the possible branching of this structure one calls this view "Treeview". The oldest entry is on thei oben, the newest at the end of the tree structure. That may seem unusual but the forum does not work with a chronological system when the treeview is on. It follows the principle of the so called threaded discussion by which the consecutive entrys are linked together. That enables the comfortable "work through" a discussion from the top to the button. That is different with the flatview.

URL
(Unique Request Line ) that means : An adress with that you can reach the page you want. Mostly in forms like "www.blafasel.com".

WYSIWYG
(Spoken: Wüsüwück) Theoretical: What You See Is What You Get. Practical: A lie. You think that what you see on your screen comes out of the printer as well. Hahaha! For Stud.IP that has no meaning. Still a cool short cut and is often used by lecturers. Then you should know what it means.

Yahoo
Search engine of the internet. Nowadays it is not that often used anymore but it has a good design. Some parts of Stud.IP are oriented on the functionality by the surfcase of yahoo.
